Big O Classics at Owosso Speedway

As we reach the final races of the season things start to get heated at Jack Dossey III makes steps to lock himself into the chase and is second in the overall chase points standings next to Rookie Carson Hocevar. Jack Dossey Motorsports traveled to Owosso Speedway (Owosso, MI) with the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour this past Saturday. Jack started out strong Saturday afternoon, ending practice in the top 5. Jack then went on the qualify P. 6 for the 100 lap event and after an invert, would start P. 3 in the Big O Classics 100.

Jack started the race with racing veteran Steve Dorer to his outside and the No. 14 of Kyle Hayden in front of him, both of these competitors are not in the series chase point standings. With an early caution on lap 5 after a few cars spun into the grass off the back stretch, Jack would restart P. 3 behind chase competitor Micheal Clancy. On the restart, the No. 5 of Clancy got loose coming out of 2 and hit the brakes, giving Jack nowhere to go and causing the two cars to colide and send Clancy spinning. On the restart, Jack would start P. 2 on the inside of Hayden. after a long hard battle with the No. 14 of Hayden and the No. 7 of Travis Eddy on the inside at an outside favored track, Jack fell into the second spot when the third of many cautions came out on lap 12. By lap 14, Owosso Speedway regular Kyle Crump made his way around Dossey and went on to take the lead from the No. 14 of Hayden.

After another caution on lap 43, Jack Dossey III would restart on the inside of  the No. 14 of Carson Hocevar. Jack and the Michigan-native battled for multiple laps door to door when eventually Carson would clear Jack, bumping him back to fourth. Another caution came out on lap 58 and Jack Dossey III took advantage of restarting on the outside, behind race leader Kyle Crump and with a lot of car still under his belt, Jack battled once again with chase points leader Carson Hocevar door to door and even splitting lapped cars and going 3-wide, came out in P. 2!

For the rest of the 2-hour long event, Jack Dossey III managed to keep his pink Affordable Tire Toyota Camry in the second position for the remaining 42 laps. Jack never went outside of the top 5 for the entire race.

Jack Dossey Motorsports takes a weekend off and then heads to Lucas Oil Raceway for one if the final 2 races of the season on Septemeber 23-24!
