Birch Run Speedway

Jack Dossey Motorsports headed to Birch Run Speedway for the first time this past Friday evening with the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour. Jack Dossey III went into this race in second place in Championship points, just 12 points behind points leader Carson Hocevar and 38 points ahead of third place of Austin Kunert. After competing in the Dixie 100 Friday evening Jack locked himself into the new Championship Chase format.

Jack Dossey III started the day out in the top five in practice, after finding a few problems with the right front brake system and the left from suspension in practice, which set the entire team back quite a bit, Jack qualified in P. 15 for the Dixie 100. Jack and his crew still felt hopeful, knowing their strategy may have hurt them in qualifying but would come through strong in the long run of the race.

Jack Dossey III started the 100 lap race in P. 15 and was running P. 14 when the first caution came out on lap 18. On the restart, Jack was caught up in another accident putting him up against the front stretch wall. This incident caused a right front shock to bend and the nose to bind up ultimately restricting the air flow to the radiator, causing the engine to overheat. After the second caution, JD3 started P. 12 and by lap 40 made his way up to P. 10. The final caution flew on lap 64 and Jack was running P. 8 at the time. Jack fought hard on the outside line and made his way to P. 5 by lap 80. Jack and the No. 7 of Kyle Crump fought hard the last 10 laps of the race but with the damage from the incident earlier in the race, JD3 was unable to close in on P. 4 and too home a top 5 finish with the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour!

Jack Dossey Motorsports would like to send a special thank you to Harts Auto Center, Mike Heimel Action Service, Lawrence Towing & Recovery, Auto Value Parts Stores, KTI Mechanical and Ilmor Engines by Phil Harper for their assistance and support this racing season!
