Jack Dossey III went into this weekends event at Auto City Speedway (Clio, MI) in P. 2 in the point standings in the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour just 12 points behind rookie Carson Hocevar. Although Jack had never ran a race at Auto City, he was still familiar with the track from the 2016 season where he had gotten a practice session in before the race was eventually cancelled due to rain.
Jack and the team started their day struggling to fight an ill-handling car in practice and qualifying, after qualifying P. 14 the JDM team got to work on the No. 20 Harts Auto Center Toyota Camery prior to the race to diagnose the problem which ultimately lead up to finding an issue in the right rear suspension. Jack started the race in P. 16 after pulling the race car out of post-qualifying impound and by lap 20 had made his way up to P. 10. With a caution coming out with 56 laps to go Jack was running P. 8 and on the restart fought hard to eventually advance to P. 6. A late caution came out with just 16 laps to go collecting series points leader and running P. 2 in the race, Carson Hocevar, and putting Jack in P. 4 restarting on the outside of the local racer Kyle Crump. With just 5 laps to go, another caution came out placing Jack on the inside of rookie, Hope Hornish, which he got a solid run on coming out of turn 2 and locking in his 5th top 5 finish of the season with the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour!
Jack Dossey III earned a Great Lakes Tire/Hoosier Performance Award and a Racing Electronics Hardcharger Award. Also, the Jack Dossey Motorsports team was awarded a Pitboxes.com Pit Crew of the Race Award at the end of the race!
Next up, Jack Dossey III takes on Dixie Motor Speedway (Birch Run, MI) for the very first time on August 18th with the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour!
